Public Policy Bootcamp
When: 3rd to 5th of June 2026
Format: 2.5-day residential programme, jointly run by the Institute of Economic Affairs and the Vinson Centre (University of Buckingham).
Location: Vinson Centre, University of Buckingham
Cost: Fully funded (accommodation and catering covered) except for travel to the venue.
Aimed at: Early-career public-policy professionals such as junior think-tank researchers, journalists, parliamentary staff and others starting out in policy roles.
Overview
The Public Policy Bootcamp is an annual, 2.5-day residential programme that brings together early-career professionals working in public policy for an intensive, practical deep-dive into contemporary policy challenges. Dive into global trade, fiscal & monetary policy, public health, national security and climate from a classical-liberal perspective.
Co-hosted by the Institute of Economic Affairs and the Vinson Centre at the University of Buckingham, the Bootcamp combines expert lectures, case studies, workshops and small-group discussion to sharpen participants’ analytical skills and policy instincts.
Themes and learning focus
Across the programme, we examine major public-policy areas through a classical-liberal lens, including:
- Global trade and markets
- The NHS
- Fiscal and monetary policy essentials and trade-offs
- National security policy and liberty
- Climate policy, markets and innovation
